Samantha is a highly experienced mining engineer with over 35 years in industry, leading operating teams and technical services groups, as engineering manager of capital projects, and as a corporate director leading innovation and technology for mines and processing facilities.  She has engineering degrees from the University of Toronto and Laurentian University, and she is a licenced professional engineer.  She is the recipient of the Governor General’s Gold Medal, Women in Mining Trailblazer Award, Engineering Management Award of Excellence, and a Global Top 100 Women in Mining. Samantha is keenly focused on driving safety and high-performance in teams by building on a foundation of trust, engaging the workers, and integrating effective innovations and solutions.  Samantha is the Chair of the Health & Safety Society and Past President of Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum, a Fellow and Industry Chair of the Canadian Academy of Engineers, an executive advisor for Stantec, and a member of several boards of directors.
