Industry experts analyze environmental risks to forest workers
On February 21, 2024, Workplace Safety North hosted a webinar, “New health and safety research on Ontario silviculture industry.”
In January 2024, as part of Ontario’s risk-based approach to improve health and safety, a group of subject matter experts from the silviculture industry met to take a deep dive into the root causes and controls for the top industry risk they had identified: environmental factors – including danger trees, weather events, extreme temperatures and wildlife impacting workers.
This webinar reviews the top health and safety risks identified by the silviculture industry as well as control measures to help reduce the risk to forest workers.
