Nicholas has been active in the Ontario Mine Rescue program for 14 years, serving as a Mine Rescue Officer for Kirkland Lake District since 2021. His mining career saw several mines within Northeastern Ontario, with experience in Surface Exploration, Milling Operations, and Underground Development. He also volunteers as a firefighter with the Black-River Matheson Fire Department.
