Dr. Emily Tetzlaff

Principal Scientist, EHS

Dr. Emily Tetzlaff is a recent graduate of the PhD program in Human Kinetics from the Human and Environmental Physiology Research Unit at the University of Ottawa. During her studies, Emily received the Canadian Institute of Health Research Health System Impact Fellowship and a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada postgraduate scholarship for her investigation into heat stress in underground environments. 

Throughout her doctorate, she served as a Research Affiliate with the Climate Change and Innovation Bureau at Health Canada and worked as a fatigue risk management analyst for Torex Gold Resources Inc. Emily also holds a Master of Human Kinetics, an Honours Bachelor of Physical Education with a specialization in Health Promotion, university certifications in Post-Secondary Teaching and Gerontology, and is a Registered Kinesiologist. 

Since entering the mining industry in 2015 as a researcher and corporate health promotion specialist, Emily has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles. She currently holds the position of Principal Scientist, EHS, at Wenco International Mining Systems.
