The courses, Working Safely in the Job Environment, Perform General Lockout and Tag on Prime Movers and Other Related Equipment, and Operate Hand and Power Tools, cover mandatory skills training requirements set by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development (MLITSD). The training covers essential knowledge components for surface mining operations pertaining to the Surface Miner Common Core Program #770210.

“These easy to access courses provide the foundational knowledge needed to work safely in a surface mine,” says Cindy Schiewek, WSN Executive Director of Health and Safety Services. “The e-learning format gives employers a more accessible and flexible way to deliver mandatory safety training across Ontario’s surface mining sector.”
