You’re invited to attend a four-day mining course, hosted by Workplace Safety North and Dr. Marty Hudyma from July 7 – 10 in Sudbury, ON.
This course introduces the key principles of ground control in underground hardrock mines. It involves structural mapping, field visual recognition and inspection, rock mass failure, ground support and reinforcement, ground control monitoring and mining-induced stress.
This course is intended for engineers, engineers-in-training (EITs), technologists and geologists who are new to ground control in underground hardrock mines.
Registration fee
Early bird special: $1,500 + HST until June 5, 2026
June 6, 2026: $1,800 plus HST.

Cancellation policy
Registrants who provide written notice of cancellation at least one week prior to the course start date will not be charged. Less than one week notice of cancellation or non‐attendance will incur the full cost of registration. Participant substitutions may be made at any time prior to the start of the course. WSN reserves the right to cancel or re‐schedule a course. Registrants will be informed of any cancellations at least one week prior to the course start date. WSN’s liability is limited to the registration fee.
