
Workplace Safety North (WSN) is seeking dedicated individuals from Ontario’s forestry sector to join its voluntary Board of Directors. This exciting opportunity allows candidates, whether workers or managers, to make a meaningful impact on workplace health and safety across the province.
About the board
WSN’s Board of Directors assumes a critical role in guiding the organization’s strategic vision. Board members act as advocates, fostering alliances across Ontario’s health and safety system while contributing valuable insights to advance WSN’s vision: seeing every worker home safe and healthy.

Who we’re looking for
WSN is looking for individuals with integrity, strategic thinking skills, and a passion for workplace health and safety. Ideally, candidates have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial/accounting
- Legal
- Human resources
- Information technology
- Government relations
- Not-for-Profit boards
- Occupational health and safety
- Public relations
This opportunity is particularly open to candidates from Ontario’s forestry sector, including both worker and management representatives.
Time commitment
Board members serve a three-year term (2025–2028) and are expected to:
- Attend four board meetings annually (four hours in duration).
- Participate in virtual subcommittee meetings (1.5 hours each, three times annually).
- Attend orientation sessions and prepare for meetings with materials provided in advance.
This is a volunteer position, with reimbursement provided for travel and business expenses as required.
