Ontario is celebrating 100 years of forestry and pulp and paper health and safety at a special conference in Thunder Bay on September 24 at the Valhalla Inn.
The history of the forestry, pulp and paper industry in Ontario is older than the province itself. In many ways, the story of the cutting, harvesting and processing of wood is the story of Ontario.
“From 1915 to 2015, Workplace Safety North and its legacy organizations have been dedicated to a single mission: to make workplaces safer,” says Candys Ballanger-Michaud, President and CEO of Workplace Safety North.
“We’ve come a long way since then, and we’re inviting all businesses involved in Ontario’s forestry and pulp and paper industries to join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of worker health and safety,” says Ballanger-Michaud.
The conference features keynote speakers, workshop training sessions, industry networking, a trade show, and safety awards banquet.
