Refresher Training for Approved Trainers of IPCO/IPCS Programs

This mandatory refresher training applies to “Approved Trainers” involved in the pre-employment classroom training and/or on-site evaluations of professional chainsaw and cable skidder operators.
 
All non-logging trainers who provide chainsaw training using the IPCO program and are posted on the WSN website must participate in this training to remain active on the WSN website.
 
The course provides participants with a wide range of information and resources, and an excellent opportunity to network.

Course content includes: 

  • An overview and discussion on version 5.0 PCO instructor's manual and the 7th Edition of the Cutting Edge participant booklet
  • Discussion on conducting and effective PCO/PCS on-site evaluation
  • General questions and answers
Please note: Participants will receive the version 5.0 IPCO instructor's manual and the 7th Edition of the Cutting Edge participant booklet as participant materials for this course.
 
Prerequisites: 
Course participants must be active trainers (or inactive trainers requiring this refresher course) currently providing WSN Introduction to Professional Chainsaw Operation and/or Professional Cable Skidding training to logging or non-logging participants, and/or on-site evaluation for MLITSD certification to loggers. 
 
Participants must hold MLITSD certified cutter/skidder credentials. 
 
The minimum prerequisite is the participant’s approval to provide WSN Introduction to Professional Chainsaw Operation and/or Professional Cable Skidding training to either for the logging industry or all sectors except the logging industry.
 
Intended Audience: 
All approved trainers who currently provide the approved pre-employment classroom training and/or on-site evaluations for professional cutter/skidder operators and hold certified cutter/skidder trainer credentials are required to complete the refresher training every three years in order for their training credentials to remain in good standing. All non-logging trainers who provide chainsaw training using the IPCO program and are posted on the WSN website must participate in this training to remain active on the WSN website.

This training is for IPCO/IPCS Approved Trainers and non-logging IPCO trainers only.
