New, free basic awareness training on infection prevention and control

E-learning program now available free to all Ontario workers

A new, free online training program, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), is now available to help Ontario workers recognize infection hazards in the workplace and what can be done to prevent them.

Developed in consultation with infection control consultants and epidemiologists, this free 30-minute basic awareness training program from Public Services Health and Safety Association teaches workers how infections spread and what action can be taken to protect themselves and others in the workplace.

Though often invisible to the naked eye, infectious hazards can have a devastating impact on our health. Infectious hazards may exist in any type of workplace. It is everyone’s responsibility—including employer, supervisor and worker—to recognize and control these hazards with the same diligence as other workplace health and safety hazards.

Relevant for all workers across all sectors in Ontario, this course teaches you what infection prevention and control is and why it’s important, how infections are spread, and the steps you and others can take to prevent and control infections in the workplace.

With the pandemic, preventing the spread of infections is more important than ever. Please help share this information and help make Ontario workplaces and communities safer.
